Joshua McKay was born in Arkansas and relocated to North Idaho in 2014. Joshua was a former career Firefighter and Paramedic prior to becoming a serial entrepreneur with multiple successful businesses in home services. As a parent Josh identified the gaps in the traditional "conveyor belt" education system and wanted to provide more innovative learning opportunities for his own children centered on their actual individual learning styles, but in the process also discovered that this is a desire of many families across North Idaho. Compelled by this realization Joshua partnered with expert educator Matt Beaudreau and renown American Patriot Tim Kennedy to create Apogee North Idaho.

Joshua resides with the love of his life Shyla and their three boys in Post Falls, ID.
